Linux Requirements - POV-Ray v3.1 or v3.5 from: http://www.povray.org/ - Genesis Tookit, the executable object placement and file utilities engine from: http://www.schrammel.org/ - Get the vegetation package while you are there, and put it in your POV-Ray resource directory, similar to /usr/local/lib/povray31/include. - Genesis Tookit requires installed Linux libraries, check your /lib and /usr/lib. Setup tested under Mandrake 8.1 works fine, keep the same sym links names. Symbolic links in /lib linked to the actual files: sym link: /lib/ld-linux.so.1, to file: /lib/ldlinux.so.1.7.14 sym link: /lib/libc.so.5, to file: /lib/libc.so.5.3.12 sym link: /lib/libm.so.5, to file: /lib/libm.so.5.0.8 Equivalent libraries for your Linux distribution should be available at: http://www.rpmfind.net/ - Setup Genesis Toolkit executables on your executable path. - GT requires installed Tcl/Tk, distribution 8.3.4 works fine. - Download GT the graphical user interface. Unpack all files to your POV-Ray scene directory, for Example: ~/myPovScripts/gardenPov/ Move gt.tcl to a directory on your executable path, for Example: ~/bin/gt.tcl - Execute GT from a terminal shell prompt with the command "gt.tcl", while in your POV-Ray scene directory ( for Ex. ~/myPovScripts/gardenPov/ ). Executable attributes must be set on gt.tcl. Some systems may require the command "wish gt.tcl". Windows Requirements Alpha test GT should run under Windows, but is not yet tested. All feedback is welcome: ithaqua@inreach.com. Move gt.tcl to a directory on your executable path, for Example: c:\Program Files\GT\gt.tcl. - Run the command "wish \Program Files\GT\gt.tcl", while in your POV-Ray scene directory ( for Ex. c:\myPovScripts\gardenPov\ ). Versions GT v0.09 NEW - Cutter completed. - POV-Ray accepts gtcut_s.inc, file error solved. GT v0.08 - Scale lock for Gen added. - Cutter intermediate display with object scaling. - POV-Ray may throw errors on gtcut_s.inc. Text-edit to remove damaged line(s) indicated by number, in POV-Ray's message. GT v0.07 - Cutter initial display. - Scale tracking for Lights and Camera completed. GT v0.06 - Works with POV-Ray v3.5 and POV-Ray v3.1 both. - Scale tracking for Lights added, Camera tracking enhanced. GT v0.05 - Works with POV-Ray v3.5 only. |
